Have you ever stopped to think about the importance of preserving landscapes and cultural heritage? In today’s episode of “Aprender”, we welcome professors Luís, Juliano, and André for a discussion on the relationship between communities, historical preservation, and sustainable development.

Apheleia 2025 conference series section​

APHELEIA hosts a bi-weekly series of on-line conferences open to its members and outside participants with an interest in novel approaches to landscape transformative cultural processes, from technology to symbols, arts or governance. 

Each on-line conference lasts for 60 minutes, including time for Q&A.  Sessions will be held every other week, on Thursdays at 4:00 pm CET, starting January 16, 2025, at  http://apheleiaproject.org.

O I Seminário Internacional Apheleia: América do Sul foi realizado com o objetivo de explorar como as sociedades percebem e interagem com os territórios e paisagens. Reconhecendo a falha das estratégias de sustentabilidade em considerar a diversidade cultural, Apheleia apoiou a declaração da UNESCO sobre ciência da sustentabilidade e identificou quatro vetores para uma gestão sustentável. O seminário abordou temas como adaptações culturais, interação entre pesquisadores e sociedade, e o papel da tecnologia. A Associação Internacional Apheleia, criada em 2014, já havia contribuído para o programa BRIDGES da UNESCO. Em seu 10º aniversário, a rede promoveu o primeiro seminário fora de Portugal, no Brasil, com participação de pesquisadores da Europa e América do Sul, e discutiu temas inter e multidisciplinares relacionados à gestão territorial e sustentabilidade.
